What was new in the former generations of FAGUS
In the listing below you can see the news in the former generations of FAGUS. The collected changes compared to the predecessor generation are listed.
What was new in FAGUS-7
Fire resistance
- Non-stationary thermal FE analyis (for general FAGUS cross sections)
- Mechanical analysis under elevated temperatures (fire restistance analysis)
Other Features
- Determination of torsional stiffness for general cross sections (integrated FE analysis)
- Output of combined stress (from axial force and shear) for thin-walled cross sections
- Optional elastic shear flow analysis for shear wall model of RC cross sections
- New cross section type „slab” for simplified resistance analysis with no shear reinforcement
- Stability analysis for members under compression according to SIA and EC codes
General
- Upgrade to most recent version of national codes
- New graphical user-interface with optimized fonts, support of high-resultion displays
- Improved support for network installations
- Extensions to the CubusExplorer: Direct call of the programs and the CubusManager for the administration of the installation
What was new in FAGUS-6
User Interface
- Better structured user interface; new tabsheets for VT-Model (shear and torsion) and reinforcement design
- Automatic generation of the shear wall model
- Automatic generation of stirrups
- Geometrically correct positioning of the longitudinal reinforcement bars within the stirrups and labeling according to reinforcement drawings
- Extended possibilities for result representations (display of the shear wall forces, etc.)
- Reinforcement design: manual or automatic selection of diameter/distance; results of the stirrup design as stirrup diameters
- Automatic geometrical adaption of the reinforcement elements after design; concrete cover remains, longitudinal bars adapt to stirrups
Functionality
- Consideration of all six section force components (N, My, Mz, Vy, Vz, T) also for the analysis type „design”, „efficiency” and „stress analysis”
- Shear forces and torsion optionally considered as internal longitudinal tension force
- Improved models for shear and torsion
- Calculation of the shear center (stiffness center) based on the shear wall model
- Optionally different reference points for N, M and V, T (center of gravity, axis point, shear center)
- Crack widths, crack distances according EC2, DIN1045-1 etc.
- Stress calculation due to loading steps or for a series of independent loadings (output of the maximum differences of stresses „fatigue”)
- The special analysis of wood cross sections is now included in the option ‹A› (special option in earlier version)
- Output of stresses in stirrups („fatigue”)
- Implementation of the latest EC2 standards SIA/ ÖNorm / DIN1045-1 according EN 1992-1-1
- Interpolation rolled steel profiles
- Better arranged output of design results; easier to check thanks to cross sections given if form of distance / diameter instead of mm2/m'
