How can I model the stiffening effect of basement walls over a foundation slab?

In order to model the stiffening effect you can introduce the walls as upstanding beams of the slab. This is done as follows:

  1. Open the foundation slab in the building module.
  2. Go to the tabsheet "CAD".
  3. Open the dialog "Manage background drawings".
  4. Load the plan of the corresponding floor and close the dialog. The basement walls are now visible.
  5. Select the walls, open the context menu (RMB) and choose 'Create upstanding beam'.
Note: For the newly created beam the option 'Exclude weight of upstanding beam' is automatically activated.
