Installing a Local Hardlock Key

Introduction

The Cubus applications require a permanent connection to a hardware key of type “Hardlock”. Irrespective of your installation type — stand-alone or application server installation — you need to install drivers to access the local Hardlock key. However, on a client of an application server installation, these drivers have most probably already been installed by your system administrator.

Modern local Hardlock keys delivered by Cubus are blue USB keys, displaying a red light when plugged in and ready.

Install Hardlock drivers

N.B.: Administrator privileges are necessary!

  1. Start the CubusManager.
  2. Select the “Hardlock” tabsheet and click [Install] for the Hardlock drivers.

  3. Close the CubusManager.

You can now plug in your Hardlock on your workstation. After a few seconds, the led should be lit.
